Amazing Cat Lady Owns Over 1,000 Cats

Sixty-seven year old Lynea Lattanzio has opened her home to over 1,000 cats, making it the largest sanctuary in California. This is absolutely amazing!

Lynea Lattanzio has a passion for paws, to say the least. Throughout the course of her life, she has lived with over 38,000 cats! Honestly, we aren’t sure how this amazing lady managed to get anything done with a furry friend under her foot at all hours.

Lattanzio decided that caring for cats was her ideal lifestyle, so she transformed her California home into an amazing cat mansion. Over time, she took in over 1,000 cats and gave them free run of the house. Eventually, she was sleeping with over 60 cats in her bedroom alone, and decided that enough was enough. The sheer volume of cats in her home made Lattanzio move out of her home to her own small trailer nearby the property- a move which she never once complained about.

As you can probably imagine, Lattanzio and her team of volunteers keep busy caring for the cats. Their daily tasks include feeding them, bathing them, providing medical attention, and giving them all of the love and attention they deserve. The volunteers work long, hard hours that begin at 4 o’clock in the morning. The work that is put into running this facility is incredible!

If that doesn’t astound you, Lattanzio’s home is now known as the largest non-cage, non-killing stray cat sanctuary in California. She has become a cat-lover’s icon, revered for her life of service dedicated to cats and kittens of all walks of life.
